Pokemon Leaf Green
On August 24th, 2024 I finally finished Pokemon Leaf green! This the first Kanto game I finish (my Red playthru got corrupted back in 2011 or so...) and the first mainline Pokemon game I play in almost 10 years!
When I was little, I used to hate how barebones the story in main Pokemon games was, but this time around I appreciated it a lot.
Most of the games I have played in the past few years have been pretty long and/or text-heavy, sp the change of pace was welcome. It turned out to be a pretty short and sweet game.Even shorter to me since I actually started playing it in 2022 but abandoned after 3 medals because I had to grind and got bored, so ever since I picked the game up I think I have only played around 15-20 hours.
I took for granted I wasn't gonna continue it ever because it has been years since I last was interested in a main Pokemon game, but I read this blog post & it made me want to pick it up again, glad I did!Quick thougts

You can never have too many reginal birds named Reina.
Feather Dance ended up being surprisingly useful

Originally I said she was just a worse Clefary, but she ended up being better than Campanilla lol
Lv. 56
No special split and her learnset hurted her a lot, but she did her best! Metronome is too fun to use
Lv. 56
I'm not a fan on Nidoqueen so I wasn't too sure about evolving her, but I don't regret it! She is strong AND cute
Lv. 57
The first wild Pokemon I saw after my return. Ninetales is super pretty and I have never trained one, so of course I had to get her!
Adventures
I don't have too many as I only played the latter half of the game, but here are some memories! The first one is the Pokemon Tower ghost!
I knew about it thanks to the manga, but it surprised me to see it, specially since you can't catch or attack it, plus it talks!
It made me sad to fight the Marowark tho, the game says you're letting it finally rest in peace, but beating a mourning mom doesn't sit well with me.
I didn't had such luck after, so I simply bought the coins to get the TMs/items I wanted Then I looked for Blaine's gym. I didn't check the map and thought Cinnamon Island and Seafoam Island were one and the same.
...So I went to Seafoam as it was the nearest one and insted of that bald guy I found Articuno lmao
I had one problem though, and it was that all I was carrying were two (2) Ultra balls and no sleep/paralyz attacks
I had 2 tries per battle & couldn't damage her too much. But eventually, after 2 hours of soft reseting, I caught her 💪The rest of the game went without incidents. The Tri-island event caught me by surprise! I had no idea about them. I wish you could do more stuff on them though (and let me play mini-games alone!)
Then, I trained a bit for the Leage, and here we are!!Turns out she only gained 27 levels :_3
I expected her to be around Lv.50 or so..... Give me my money back!
I also plan to make a living dex there someday (to the best of my habilities, as I can't trade). It's the first time I try one, it seems fun (^-^)
(Semi-related, I have started playing my first Digimon game!!
A shame the babies don't stay cute and turn into humans/american designs after evolving, it if weren't for that Digimon is all I wanted mainline Pokemon to be when I was little ;o;)
