My favorite games

Here's the list of my favorite games and ones that are iconic to me due to the memories I got with them. I tried to only pick 1 game per series.
List is ordered by release year.

Wario Ware: Touched! - 2004
We only could get 2 games per year, but one day my father surprised us with this one! He saw it in a shop and thought it looked fun. I bought this one to the hospital so many times, I was especially addicted to the Pyoro side game.
We lended it to our cousin for a bit and she beat all our mini-game records btw lol
Super Mario 64 - 2004
I find this game's controls super clunky (I actually haven't even finished it, my sister had to beat the last Bowser for me), but I spent sooo many hours playing around the levels and making up stories. Luigi also gave me a casion addiction lmao I got like 3k coins at the Poker game.
Nintendogs - 2005
The one that came pre-bundled with the DS and everyone had. I have so many memories playing this one in the school’s bathroom and with my cousins.
Like everything during this time period, the game was my sister’s, so she didn’t let me buy any dog & instead would gift me one on my birthday lol Waking up to a surprise new puppy for me made me happy though!
Trauma Center - 2005
My cousin had this game and my sister loved playing it, but for some reason I was TERRIFIED of it. I would run away to the kitchen the second I heard its music. Idk, I had real weird fears as a kid, especially with certain sounds/melodies.
A few years back I decided to conquer my fear and downloaded it on my R4. ….I swear this game wasn’t made for humans’ reflexes, how is it so hard
Animal Crossing Wild World - 2005
My favorite Animal Crossing game and the one that started my love for the series. I didn’t play it for too many years as a kid due to an accident, but I still have lots of memories with it, and to this day I continue taking care of my town.
My sister didn't let me decorate the town without her permission or use any room in the house, but I had fun regardless.
Pokemon Pearl - 2006
My first Pokemon game and the first game I had all for myself. Yes, Platinum did everything DP did and better, but this one still holds a big part of my heart and is the one I replay the most.
My sister would draw my character with my little Piplup thru the game to cheer me on :)
Yoshi's Island DS - 2006
This one was my cousin's, but I loved it so much he gave it to me. Played it tons with my sister and a friend, but we still haven't managed to complete the museum...
Hotel Dusk: Room 215 - 2007
This one surprised me a lot! It started very slow, but once the story started to take shape I couldn't stop playing it. Getting to know the characters was so fun, this game felt like a little bedtime story.
Its ""sister"" game, Another Code, was very nice as well but I got lost in all the british family drama lol.
The World Ends With You - 2007
I like to pretend a divine entity made me play this game. Shortly after I got an R4, its abbreviation randomly popped up on my mind and I decided to Google it, saw it was a DS game and so downloaded it.
My friend said the Switch port didn't release long ago, so I probably saw the name back then, but I prefer the other explanation lol.
Super fun game with an amazing OST. I'm very bad at it so I don't know shit about the lore, but I love to start it up and just vibe.
PMD Explorers of Darkness - 2007
This game's story completely changed my brain's chemistry as a kid. Honestly, thanks to it I appreciate life.
When I was little I didn't understand the difference between branches, developers and such; so I was SO ANGRY the PMD games had an amazing story while mainline's sucked, I wanted Satoshi Tajiri to lock in so bad lmao.
I also played the og PMD a lot with a friend when I was a kid
Cocina conmigo - 2008
I have no idea of what's the ENG title for this "game" (its actually a semi-interactive recipe book), but I was OBSESED with it, I'm 10000% sure its how-to videos are the reason of why I love cooking ASMR videos now.
My mom wanted this game so we got it for her on xmas, but she never used it lol. We didn't cook anything from it in general actually. But I still had lots of fun reading and watching different recipes.
Devil Survivor - 2009
A recent favorite. I will keep my rambling to a future shrine I will most likely give the series but woah. Story was super engaging, characters fun, art style very sharp and original & the gameplay a blast. It's the only SRPG I managed to play thru, and the battles were so fun I now wish every RPG played like them lol.
Magician's Quest - 2009
Man, this game... ToT
I saw it on a kids magazine we used to buy and fell in love with it. But looks like they brought 5 copies over here and I couldn't buy it until some months after its release, so no matter how much we searched and I asked for it for my bday/xmas, it was imposible to get a copy.
Thanks to R4, I finally could play it and its one of my favorite games now. I looove the characters' designs and personality so much, they're way more varied than Animal Crossing.
Professor Layton & the Specter's Call - 2009
I have been playing Layton games since the very first one released in EU, and while Lost Future used to be my favorite one (it made me cry a lot as a kid!), with the years Specter's Call slowly dethroned it. I just love small-scale stories, and I find this game super sweet.
Zero Escape 999 - 2009
I asked for DS games recs when I first bought my R4, and an anonymous person said 999. I downloaded it without even looking at the cover, the first 5 minutes made me think it's a grittier Professor Layton. Oh, how wrong I was. I will say nothing about this game, just please go now to Emuparadise and play it completely blind. Totally one of my favorite games now, what a ride.
Ace Attorney Investigations 2 - 2011
I don't remember much about this game (I played it a handful of years ago) but I remember I loved it and Sebastian made me cry like a baby. I'm super excited to play the Switch port this xmas!!!
The DS' catalog is so big... I wonder when I will find my next new favorite!
Btw I didn't include any kirby game because no one was The Game (Canvas Curse gave me my internet identity though haha) but I love them a lot!
