River Nendoroid

Here it is! The world’s first furry Nendoroid! And probably my favorite Nendoroid to date. All the issues I had with the past ones? River solves them all!
Thanks to his ears, he is a bit taller than usual nendos, standing at 11cm. Despite having a relatively complex fur pattern, his only QC issues are some orange spots at the edge of one of his ears, but they aren’t too noticeable.

His fur markings align perfectly while he’s on his resting position, and the mismatch isn’t too jarring when you move the arms/legs around.

Like it can be seen in the photos, GSC did their homework and his eyes are glossy! They’re inset from inside the head like a doll, though they don’t have a follow-me effect since it’s just shiny coating over the eyes rather than a transparent “capsule” covering them.

I’m not sure if they can be appreciated in the pics, but he has some orange blush on all his faceplates and the tips of his whiskers have a light orange gradient. I also love the hearts on his back, so cute...

Here’s his face open and his neck peg. The faceplates can be replaced with no problems, but the eyes and ears are fully glued to the head unfortunately, so no Nendos with cute fox ears (yet! I think Oslo’s can be removed) or different-coloured eyes,

I guess it’s due to how his eyes are attached, but the head peg is different from other nendoroids. It can be moved and removed like the usual pegs though, but it’s a little bit thicker so head swaps are pretty much 1-sided (Normal head on River body, but no River head on Normal body). The chest fur can be removed as well.

And the point that makes me hate Nendos…. His movement!

I happily announce River is the only Nendoroid I enjoy playing with! His legs move up and down with no problems, and since he doesn’t have any leg extra parts they’re strongly attached to his body. The other parts, his arms and tail, are ball-jointed so it’s like posing a figma or actual doll, they don’t fall apart!!

One bad thing is that the ball joints feel kinda flimsy somehow… But maybe I’m just used to stronger ones. Oh, and his stand is different, you have to attach it between his back and tail, but it’s very hard to balance him, he keeps tilting to the side….. So I just display him without it, he can use his own tail as support just fine.

He comes with 3 faceplates, a sticker sheet and 2 objects (the maple leaf and bunny plush). It seems 2 accesories is the standard for Nendoroids now, but I can’t help but think they’re too few….

At least they look nice, the shading on the bunny is especially nice. His face plates also come with no flaws, my favorite is his neutral one (the one in this post’ header) he just looks like a little creature.

The printing on the sticker sheet is pretty low quality though, imagine you try to print one on your cheap domestic printer, that’s more or less how it looks, I didn’t even bother taking it out. The box itself is very pretty, it has shiny maple leafs all over it.
My mother got so excited over the Nendoroid she took the box out of my hands and broke a part of it tho lmao. But I forgive her.

To wrap the post....

I initially bought it impulsively because it looked like a LPS and because I wanted to support the furry anime figure economy. While I found it cute, it wasn’t my cup of tea when it comes to designs (I’m not a fan of orange) but fortunately, he looks PERFECT in real life, I love him so much!! Special thanks to my mother for buying him for me. I can't wait for Oslo...

And of course, the obligatory cursed Makoto pics
