Sorry for the lack of images (and the poor quality of the few ones), I was so excited when I opened him that I forgot to take pics, and now I got him posed and don't want to move him
I prefer to hear bad news first, so I will start with the downsides...
While I was checking if anything was broken, I noticed the back of his belt looks nasty... Is it glue? I wish they could've made it form-fitting like it should be, but at least I won't be looking at this back on this perspective very much.He has some other defects too: his hair has some paint blobs (air bubbles?), a small dot of misplaced black paint on his shirt collar and part of his SEES band's paint is missing. Though I didn't notice that last thing as a defect until I saw his promo pics again, I thought the band was supposed to be worn-out lmao
The paint blobs on his hair bug me a bit though... Part of me is reasonable since Nendoroids are so small and hand-painted by humans, but also GSC is asking us $70 for such a small figure, so I expect no flaws.
I'm actually very surprised his clothes are flawless except for the small dot on his collar... I think I can live with these defectsDefects aside, let's move to more general things
The box is way smaller than other nendos & figma! I like its size a lot, it's compact but the figure & accessories are spaced out enough. When I read about his accessories I thought they were too few, but laid out they're lots imo.
He comes with a gun, a half gun to put on his belt, a simple tarot card, sword and effect prop. I still wish they gave him another faceplate, Maya ended up getting all the accessories lol
I won't count this as negative points because it's a problem in all nendos (and one of the reasons why I haven't bought more) but HE'S SO HARD TO POSE How do yall manage it??
Legs move up/down and allow some rotation, same with his head. Arms move up and down too... if they don't fall down while moving them (looks like you have to directly insert them on the pose you want them to be?).
The arms are a pain to move compared to figma & parfom. Also because his hair is smoooooth and the grip is strong, changing faceplates is an adventure.
I'm scared I will break one of his hair tips like it happened with aigis when doing it...
The body itself is strong but I feel it could snap at any time.... I would like to buy a genuine one soon, but it works at least. The body is a YMY in milky white, though it looks too pink compared to Makoto's yellow-ish skin.
Right now I'm eeyeeing Piccodo bodies since they made a doll of the P5 protagonist, so maybe its color is closer to Makoto. But that will have to wait until an Aigis re-release (they have pure white bodies too!)
So yeah I don't regret buying him despite having doubts ^^ He's growing on me, I don't think I will buy many more nendos (I got a miku pre ordered, and will buy aigis & trucy aceattorney if they release them), but they're cute~
Due to their style, I think collections of them look too same-y, but if you just want a few? Go for it.
Right now, counting pre-orders, my Nendos are: Makoto, Anniversary Miku & River. Aside from them, I'm looking for Aigis, and like I said probably Trucy if they release her.
After that, I think my journey will end. Unless they make Nendos of other P3 characters, the probabily is slim but it's here! Praying for Labrys and Yukari
